Discipline Committee
The Discipline Committee at our institution plays a vital role in maintaining a peaceful, respectful and conducive environment for learning. The committee is responsible for upholding discipline and ensuring that all students adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution. By promoting good conduct and resolving behavioural issues, the Discipline Committee contributes to a harmonious campus atmosphere.
Objectives:
To uphold discipline and ensure compliance with the institution’s code of conduct.
To address incidents of misconduct and take appropriate corrective actions.
To promote a safe, respectful and healthy academic environment for all students and staff.
To foster a culture of integrity, accountability and mutual respect among students.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring Behaviour: Overseeing student conduct both on and off-campus, ensuring that all students adhere to the institution's rules and respect the rights of others.
Handling Violations: Investigating cases of indiscipline, such as disruptive behaviour, violence, harassment, ragging, or any form of misconduct and taking necessary actions.
Disciplinary Actions: Based on the severity of the violation, the committee may recommend disciplinary actions ranging from warnings to suspensions or, in extreme cases, expulsion.
Promoting Awareness: Organizing workshops and seminars to educate students about the importance of discipline, ethical behaviour and the consequences of violating institutional rules.
Code of Conduct:
Respect for Others: All students are expected to treat fellow students, faculty and staff with respect and dignity.
Compliance with Rules: Students must comply with the institution’s rules and regulations, including classroom behaviour, attendance and respect for campus property.
Zero Tolerance for Ragging: Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. Any instance of ragging will be dealt with seriously as per the institution’s anti-ragging policy.
Prohibition of Misconduct: Any form of academic dishonesty, harassment, violence, or inappropriate behaviour will lead to disciplinary action.
Grievance Redressal:
The Discipline Committee provides a platform for students to report any incidents of misconduct or violations of the institution's code of conduct. Reports can be made through:
Offline Submission: Provide a written report to the Chairman of Discipline Committee.
Disciplinary Procedure:
1. Report Submission: Incidents of misconduct or rule violations can be reported by students, faculty, or staff.
2. Investigation: The committee conducts a thorough investigation, gathering relevant facts and hearing from all parties involved.
3. Action: Based on the findings, appropriate disciplinary measures are taken.
4. Follow-up: The committee monitors the implementation of disciplinary actions and ensures the resolution of the issue.
