Standing Committee (Special Cell)

The Special Cell at our college is established to support and empower students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Minority communities. The cell is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment that ensures equal opportunities for academic and personal growth, in line with the provisions of the Constitution of India.

Objectives:

- To safeguard the rights and welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minority students within the institution.

- To ensure effective implementation of reservation policies for admissions, scholarships and other benefits.

- To provide guidance and support in academic, financial and personal matters.

- To raise awareness about the legal provisions, benefits and schemes available for students from these communities.

- To address grievances or issues faced by these students, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate assistance.

Key Functions:

Awareness and Support: Informing students about government schemes, scholarships and financial assistance programs tailored for SC/ST/OBC/Minority students.

Reservation Compliance: Ensuring the implementation of reservation policies in admissions, faculty recruitment and other educational programs, as per government regulations.

Grievance Redressal: Providing a platform for students to voice their concerns and grievances related to discrimination, academic issues, or other challenges. The cell ensures prompt and fair resolution of such matters.

Counselling and Mentorship: Offering academic and personal counselling and organizing mentorship programs to help students excel in their studies and overall development.

Cultural Inclusivity: Promoting cultural diversity by organizing events and workshops to celebrate the heritage and traditions of different communities.

 

Grievance Redressal Mechanism:

The Special Cell is committed to addressing grievances related to discrimination, harassment, or denial of rights. Students can submit their concerns through:

Offline Submission: Submit a written complaint to the SC/ST/OBC/Minority Cell at office at Window No 6 on campus to Mr. S. P. Varute (Senior Clerk).

 

Support for Students:

Scholarships: Assistance with applications for various central and state government scholarships.

Remedial Classes: Additional academic support through remedial classes and tutorials for students in need.

Career Guidance: Organizing career counseling sessions and skill development programs to enhance employability.
