The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at our institution is dedicated to ensuring that every student, regardless of their background or abilities, has equal access to academic and personal growth opportunities. The Cell works to promote a campus environment that is inclusive, respectful and supportive of diversity, in accordance with the principles of equality outlined in the Constitution of India.

Objectives:

• To provide equal opportunities for all students, especially those from marginalized or disadvantaged backgrounds, such as women, differently abled students, SC/ST/OBC communities and minorities.
• To promote and ensure the fair treatment of students by eliminating discrimination based on gender, disability, caste, religion, or socioeconomic background.
• To create awareness about the rights and provisions available to marginalized groups under various government schemes.
• To facilitate access to resources, scholarships and support services that empower students to succeed academically and personally.

Key Functions:

Awareness and Sensitization: Organizing workshops, seminars and events to raise awareness about equality, diversity and inclusion.

Support for Differently Abled Students: Ensuring barrierfree access to campus facilities and providing special resources such as assistive technologies, extra time for exams and other accommodations.

Scholarships and Financial Aid: Assisting students from disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing scholarships, financial aid and other welfare schemes.

Activities:

• Conducting awareness campaigns to educate students about their rights and entitlements.
• Providing skill development programs and career counselling for students from marginalized sections to enhance their employability.
• Organizing special events celebrating diversity and promoting inclusiveness on campus.
• Collaborating with various departments and external agencies to ensure the effective implementation of policies related to equal opportunities.
